Splitting the Online thread into Wii U and 3DS

  3. Splitting the Online thread into Wii U and 3DS
We're considering splitting the main Online friend code thread into a Wii U version and a 3DS version but wanted to consult the community on this first because it has some ramifications.

A site feature on the Online page is that it displays the active online thread posts as a live feed at the bottom in real time. To see this in action, keep one browser window open with the Online page, and then post in the friend code thread in a separate window or on your phone - your post in the friend code thread should now appear on the Online page without having to refresh. This is the only thread in the site which functions like this and allows you to just keep the Online page open as everything on that page auto-refreshes.

The result of splitting the Online thread into 3DS and Wii U code threads means that the 3DS users will not be able to use this functionality for the 3DS thread. A number of people have voiced that they'd prefer two threads, so in fact this could be the bigger issue than lost functionality.

If you have an opinion in the matter, please vote by liking one of the two admin posts about the issue below.

I want the Online thread to remain the way that it currently is

I agree with the walking thesaurus. I want the Online thread to be split into 3DS and Wii U threads

I have no strong opinions either way.

After seeing this in practice, I'm not convinced it's done a good job of anything. It feels like now there's a Wii U master race and that 3DS users aren't posting as much or even feeling as welcome possibly.

I'm considering closing the 3DS thread and just making the Wii U Online thread the main online thread including 3DS again.

Keen to hear thought on this, particularly from 3DS players.

I agree completely, the only people I play with regularly now from the site are Red and Jaffa, and I contact them through the skype group. This has not helped at all, please join them back up again Shitashi.
Everytime I post on the Wii U thread for a game I feel like a stranger, which is what I didn't feel at first when I joined.
