Match process
1. Both players select their first character through the character select drop down list.
2. Player B strikes a stage from the starter list
3. Player A strikes two stages from the starter list
4. Player B selects a stage from the two remaining starter stages
5. The first game is played
6. The winner of the previous match bans two stages from the full stage list
7. The loser of the previous game selects a stage from the full stage list
8. The winner of the previous game selects a character
9. The loser of the previous game selects a character
10. The next match is played
11. If there is no winner for the set, go to step 6

Additional rules

Please play a test match before the real match to ensure that you both have a stable connection

In the event of a Time Out the win goes to the player with the higher stock count, if the stocks are even, it then goes to the player with the lower percentage. If both players have equal stocks and percentages when the time finishes a 1 stock tie breaker will be played with a 4 minute timer.

If both players lose their last stock on the same frame (game goes to sudden death) then a 1 stock tie breaker will be played with a 2 minute timer. This rule is ignored if the players are in a grabber/grabbee situation. Examples of these include Wario’s Bite, Ganondorf’s Flame Choke and Kirby/Dedede’s inhale. In these situations, the player who initiated the grab wins.
