There was a CrazyMonkeyKing who said something along the lines of, "All Indians are homophobic assholes" in the twitch chat after mistaking me for an Indian. If this is the same racist person, I'm amused more than anything else about his cry for maturity.
I'm gonna preface my post by saying I'm gonna try and keep this brief to avoid wasting both of our time.
First of all your account of what I said is completely incorrect. What I said was much closer to “Azurewolf do you think the majority of Indians are homophobic?”, I can’t get the exact quote because the messages were deleted on Twitch. I don’t swear or cuss so what you’re saying is clearly embellished. There’s clearly a massive difference between what you accused me of saying and what I actually said. I neither accused all Indians of being “assholes”, or stated they were homophobic. I simply asked for your opinion on an issue.
Secondly, you only need to google “India homophobia” to realise that homophobia is a real problem in India. Being Indian myself I have plenty of Indian/Sri Lankan friends and have had many Indian co-workers. From personal experience there is a problem regarding homophobia amongst them. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/8618084/Homophobia-persists-in-India-despite-court-reforms.html here is one of the myriad of articles you can find regarding this topic.
Now that we’ve established,
A. your account of what I said is false
And
B. What I said is an actual contemporary issue
We can move onto context, specifically the context in which I posed my question.
Twitch chat. This exchange literally occurred on Twitch chat. Of course the question I asked doesn’t really have a place in a smash stream of all places but I was clearly messing around and everything I was saying was said in a lighthearted context. Trying to twist my words that were said in an informal atmosphere is extremely grimy. I don’t know how to embed images but some of my messages can be seen here. https://gyazo.com/a00259f1f89829b66be90fff579d3e1e I was clearly joking and messing around. What I said was at best a little bit inflammatory, nothing close to the racist you're accusing me of being. Different mediums require different levels of maturity. Trying to use my presence twitch chat as the pinnacle of my maturity is very flawed logic. One acts differently when you’re just joking around with people, when compared to, for example, presenting and explaining an idea on a message board.
tl;dr I didn’t call Indians “assholes”, homophobia in India is a real issue, context is important, twisting the words I say in twitch chat and then using them in an attempt to shame me is ridiculous and unwarranted.
Again, it looks like nothing constructive is going to be said, only rash and unreasonable attacks on my character. So I’m not going to respond to anything anyone else has to say.
