Now that the patch has been announced (and is so soon!), the senate will be firing discussion back up again. Rest assured that Umbra Clock Tower will feature heavily in those discussions, and will influence a large number of decisions.

The Umbra Clock Tower looks like a counterpick to me. It's basically T&C but a bit larger and looks cool

No clock tower. That stage actually hurts my eyes, and the transformations are random. Too big, as well.

Clock tower is like a more legal version of pokefloats, aerial platform battles are cool
The stage does have some visual issues, but so does FD, so if thats going to be one of the cited reasons to ban the stage then DONT HAVE DOUBLE STANDARDS and make a chosen omega stage become the default for FD.

i agree with this except for the outdated meme. A lot of people tend to play Omega Palutena Temple instead of FD, so they'll probably pick that if they do what you're saying

Just making this public, But I have posted in the senate about a leave of absence from it, so until I deem that the discussion is back on track of making good choices for the Australian Smash scene I wont be returning. Currently the main driving discussion is the BAM Rule set for Sm4sh as it is tentetivly 5 neutral stages 1 counter pick with No Duck Hunt to be seen, I personally have no objection to this rule set and I wish them well.
Also the social thread at the time of the first round of MAFIA on this site was renamed by Invisi as the Mafia chat, for those of you who followed the last few rounds of Mafia I was one of the first to die in the 1st game and was killed before anything really happened in the 2nd day, I have regularly stated that I don't feel like the thread was in the nature of the game.
While I like the concept of the senate its becoming a more argumentative place, for those that know me UQ Smash used a 3 neutral stage and 4-6 counter picks depending on the month, when I tried to bring it up it was shut down rather quickly, with no rule set being determined for Australian as whole (With discussions of running 2 different rule sets) UQ will be returning to the 3 neutral stages for the foreseeable future.
I felt Like this things I needed to communicate with people from my experience with the senate, if there comes a time for me to return I will reopen that Discord Thread until then, I am on a Leave of Absence from the Senate.

If no official Australian ruleset comes out before April 1st I'll make my own.
Say hello to castle siege and delfino ;) My own ruleset for sandbags, that is.

LEF, I appreciate your desire for transparency, but your post doesn't really help anyone. It would've been far more productive if you'd actually brought up your concerns for discussion, rather than simply leaving.
Through the chaos that has happened in the senate this last week (I won't go into details), we've actually come up with a ruleset that we're in the final stages of confirming before we release it hopefully today or tomorrow. This ruleset will be also used at BAM. We are also planning to release the reasoning behind some of our decisions, shortly after. We can't force you to run the ruleset we're about to release, but I can tell you it is the best option and that everyone else will be running it.
As for the mafia issue, people were talking about the thread already - the name change was mostly in jest to begin with, but it kinda stuck. That said, discussion pertaining to mafia has been in good faith - most posts were complaints about the thread moving slowly or nights taking too long, or mentions of "something important has happened, you guys should go read the thread". I even asked if people wanted me to take down the discussion area, and no one told me to. People have not been violating the rules of the game, and have been keeping any posts of substance to the mafia thread itself.

I do recall asking for it to be renamed Social which happened only for you to name it Mafia Again, and there is a lot of discussion in there that should happen in the various threads.
