A bit of an update after skimming through Villager boards and labbing...

- The One-Chop Technique has been patched. It happened a few patches before but this hasn't been updated so I thought I'd mention now.

- New: Lloid Braking -

Watch the Villager.

All the Villagers have been testing it out but we have NO idea exactly what it is that causes this. It doesn't matter whether you mash side b or not, according to the three cases where this has occurred.

An interesting note is that in all cases, all the launching attacks had electrical properties. If this ends up holding true then MUs against Pikachu and Robin will significantly tip in our favour.

As of now though, we have little knowledge on how exactly to perform it.

- Down Smash Tidbit
Generally the optimal punish for dsmash is usmash as it knocks the opponent into the air where they'll suffer normal knockback as opposed to reduced knockback in the ground. However, you can also do lloid then fsmash immediately after for a stronger, yet riskier reward.

This is best when your opponent isn't expecting a dsmash or just doesn't mash.

- Fastfall Sourspot Uair Combos
http://smashboards.com/threads/fastfall-sourspot-upair-stalk-market-combos-villagers-best-combo-tool.410641/
A very nice mixup option. But remember that it doesn't work on everyone!
- Down Smash Tidbit 2 - Platforms

If dsmash hits the opponent when you're standing on a platform, it will bury them! You can usually follow up with a bowling ball afterwards, even if it has reduced knockback.

It seems to only work with taller/bigger characters, which makes sense.

Friendly reminder that airbourne opponents will never be buried by a dsmash. It won't even spike either and 9 times outta 10, they'll punish you for hitting them with the shovel in the first place, so avoid at all costs!
- Villager Wood Chip Infinite
Found by Admiral - https://twitter.com/Teitoku_Admiral/status/667323679856947201

The difficulty of this infinite cannot be expressed in words. Precision in execution, timing and spacing are a must.

Here is the Smashboards thread if you are interested: http://smashboards.com/threads/villagers-wood-chip-has-true-footstool-combos-too-twitter-video.423857/#post-20521522

- New: Infinite Pocket Duration
http://smashboards.com/threads/infinite-pocket-duration-way-to-activate-glitch-found.422024/#post-20382826

To elaborate, this enables Villager to infinitely pocket a holdable item (such as Diddy's Banana and ROB's Gyro) without needing to take it out every 30 seconds like usual.

To do this, simply have one item in hand and one item in your Pocket. You can then either:
1) Grow and chop the Tree
2) Aerial down B (the li'l 'I can't plant trees out of thin air' animation)

As soon as the animation ends, both items have infinite Pocket duration. Both items can stay in the Pocket infinitely even if you switch them around.

However, if you dispose of the item currently in your hand, then bring out the item in your Pocket, that item will lose its infinite Pocket duration (i.e. if you repocket it after you bring it out, it'll disappear after 30 seconds like normal). Keeping the Pocketed item and never bringing it out works fine, but as soon as it does come out, it reverts to normal.

Especially useful against WarioROBBowserJrDiddy

I heard pocketing your teammate's items/projectiles now has significantly reduced damage and knockback. Good-bye, gimmicky doubles strategies.

Yeah I've heard that too from others, so I assume it's correct.

In what way does this relate to Villager?

Also a tidbit on the Infinite Pocket, the best item to have in your hand to perform it is usually the wood chip you get from chopping the tree.

Specifically in the Diddy MU, you can try getting his peanuts if you wish. Either works fine.

Villager's Pocket only gets reduced damage when it pockets a teammate's projectiles.

And nothing you said relates to any of Villager's ATs.

So no I don't see it.
