Ggs! Yeah i could see why because of how megaman can handle villager camping. You were definitely very smart. Bowling ball reas were good and you know how to use all his aerials well. JUST NO POCKETING FSMASH PLEASE

TL;DR: Metal blade, pellets and skull reflector heavily limit Villager's options.
Thoughts on the match-up -
Out of all the projectile-centric characters in the game, the pocket is the least effective on Megaman. The reasoning is because the moves that give villager the most problems, pocket doesn't help you with at all...namely the metal blade and the pellets. The metal blade you can pocket, but the problem is you have to take it out, and in that time you spend taking the metal blade out, you're very likely to be hit by another metal blade or projectile due to Megaman's relentless projectile pressure. No joke, you are seriously better off attempting to catch the metal blade normally like everyone else than to pocket it despite the pockets huge range. The pellets are pocket-able as well of course, but pocketing it is pretty much useless cause its a freaking pellet and what makes the pellets good is that you can fire multiple ones in a short amount of time and the arm cannon having good knock-back on it if it touches you which the pocket cannot provide you with. Also if you try to pocket it you will very likely be hit during your pocketing animation by another pellet or be hit/grabbed during the pocketing animation by another move and that will cancel out your item pocketing leaving you with an empty pocket again. Yet still for some reason in customs, Megaman also has a reflector that comes out instantly, that he can fully move with, grab out of, and throw at you to attack you with...Yeah now picture how hard that would be to deal with as Villager who has projectiles as his normal attacks. The worst part is that those two projectiles that the pocket fails to aid you with, are the best and only tools Megaman needs to completely nullify Villagers best options. Its never ever safe to plant a tree (unless Megaman is offstage) because of the constant barrage of projectiles making it nearly impossible. The lloid rocket helps you deal with the pellet storm, but it is ultimately beaten by the metal blade. At the start up frames of the lloid rocket, the metal blade goes right through it and hits villager. In that short time interval where you get hit by the metal blade, you cannot block or do anything, you just take the hit. So basically if you guess wrong and try to throw out a lloid to absorb the pellets at the wrong time, Megaman can choose at any time to mix up his projectile game by throwing in a metal blade every now and then and it will always go right through your lloid and hit you. Even then, three pellets blow up a normal lloid, (which is exactly how many pellets he can throw out during a single string of pellets) so its still only a temporary solution to dealing with the pellets sometimes. Even the slingshots kinda suck because of Megaman being relatively short making it kinda hard to hit him, the grounded pellets always beating slingshot due to them being able to be instantly thrown in the ground...multiple times, and the necessity to throw them in the air sucking because when you're in the air all pellets will automatically combo you. Also reflect.

Thats all true but skull shield is a custom. Otherwise yeah pocketing most my stuff isnt too helpful. Except fsmash and leaf shield.
Id like to play ghost and atyeo at a later date.
