Corrin is still a better idea than including Roy. Hyping a Fire Emblem game about to be released rather than a long dead and really boring lord you couldn't even play in any English releases.
(Isaac is still a better idea than Corrin though. >_>)

I'm hoping Corrin will be amazing to play. His/her design looks really cool as well imo. Seeing that chainsaw sword sold me instantly lol.

He looks fun play style wise. The character however is one that the player makes all decisions for and sort of lacks personality. Also this is the third character in THIS smash game as native advertising. Fire Emblem is an ok/good series with tons of unique characters who DON'T use swords. This character is more unique like Robin is, so that's good. At least it's not another Lucina.

Corrin looks sick! I think i'm going to main him if he has decent combos.

This was disappointing for me. The only real creativity in Corrin's moveset so far seems to be the result of a brainstorm on the best way to gaudify a moveset, in order to coax $70 out of some wallets. Since Robin's reveal, I thought FE representation in Smash would break away from the "swordfighter with a counter" character base. Possibly it's the result of a lack of time, which I suppose would justify this whole thing from a business POV.
Perhaps Corrin will come out and their moveset won't be as terrible as it seemed in the trailer. I might get them then.

I don't think Corrin deserves a slot in Smash either, but it's quite reductive to boil them down "sword character with counter".
I mean you hypothesize it could be a result of a lack of time in the same paragraph that accuses them of "gaudifying" a moveset, which uh, happens to take time to do. And the counters on FE characters is supposed to be some kind of homage to FE itself.
The moveset looked interesting in the trailer. Certainly gave Corrin a...less worse reception. The dragon elements in particular. Do love me some dragons.
Everyone has characters they want in Smash that don't make it, but all these lame excuses or insults (and accusations of fraudulent ballot results in Bayonetta's case lol) are so strange.

Corrin looks sick. Gotta say there's obviously a fuckton of other characters who "deserved" the spot more (whatever that means) but his/her moveset is looking pretty boss and I think I'd rather a character who isn't as prolific being added to the game with an interesting kit than have someone who most people kinda wanted and just end up being someone with a predictable set of attacks. Not saying that would've necessarily been the case had insert popular character here made it in, but I'm happy with what we got either way.
I mean tbh I woulda preferred someone else over Bayonetta but I can see how that choice makes so much sense so I can't really complain lol. kinda sucks that there'll be no more dlc ever but oh welllll

I was bored and started analysing the moveset overview and trailer.
Disclaimer:All frame data is approximated and this entire post is my assumption of Corrin's moveset. Everything I say could be completely wrong!
standard attacks
Corrin has a gentleman and a rapid jab. The gentleman sends opponents at a 45° angle and the rapid jab sends the opponents forward and can be tech chased at low percents.
d-tilt hits around frame 8. Sends opponents towards you at an upward angle that makes it a good combo starter, hitstun makes it look like it can be jumped out of.
u-tilt hits around frame 7. Sends opponents directly upwards, looks like it can be followed up with an aerial.
f-tilt hits around frame 8. sends opponents at a 60°angle with meh hitstun.
Dash attacks hits around frame 9. A 5 hit attack with the last hit sending opponents at the same angle as f-tilt, low end lag but if missed it's very punishable.
aerials
Nair: Swings Yato and a dragon spear around corrin covering his entire body. hurtbox active for about 28 frames. could be used for combos.
Fair: Hits around frame 9. around 13-15 frames of landing lag
Up-air: It's Marth's up air
Bair: Corrin sprouts wings and beats them behind him. Hits Around frame 13, has 13 frames of landing lag and looks like a kill move. Also gives Corrin a slight horizontal boost for recovery.
Dair: A multi hit Toon Link dair from the looks of it.
Smashes
F-smash covers about 1/4 of Omega Palu.
>Uncharged hits at frame 17. Most likely has a hurtbox at the hilt during the animation. Sends opponents at a 45° angle.
>Charging f-smash hits around frame 11,16,23,33,38.47,55 etc. It's rapid jab combo into an f-smash.
Up-smash: Good ol' thundercats. Except with two dragon spears instead of a sword! Hits around frame 11-15 and is a 35~ frame animation.
d-smash: Thrusts a dragon spear in front of him and Yato behind him, can be ducked under. Hits around frame 11-13 and is a 33~ frame animation.
Specials
neutral-b: 16 frames (36~ frames when charged) for the orb to come out uncharged (36~ frames when charged). approximately a 40 frame animation (43~ with bite). stuns for about 25 frames uncharged.
>Can be followed up with a bite by pressing the b button again. Hits at around frame 9 uncharged. Could possibly do some wacky combos with it.
side-b: On ground has 26 frames of jumping 1/5 of FD. hits around frame 28. Perfectly sticks into ground.
>Forward kick hits around frame 11 and travels halfway across FD.
>Back kick I assume hits around frame 11 as well. Also travels half of FD.
>Both kicks can be easily punished if whiffed.
>I assume the jump takes your double jump
down-b: A counter that attacks from both sides and KO's upwards. the moves don't actually hit Corrin which could make some good doubles strategies.
up-b: Corrin sprouts wings and ascends to the skies, damaging enemies from both sides and gaining decent air. Can be directed forward for more horizontal recovery.
I think this went well for my first analysis.
Do I need to make a video now? I hope not.
