I'll get the ball rolling here. I really hate that Wario has an air grab that can be used for a suicide too. It has massive range too.
Wario be like

If you leave him for too long he drops a mecha koopa and can start charging the cannon. It basically controls where I can be on the stage at this point.

Playing any character except Ganondorf in a tournament setting makes me self destruct in varied ways. Actually I do that with Ganondorf too. But it takes more time.

I can handle it, all I'm saying is it forces me where to be on the stage which I don't like. Platforms help

Or you can stop pressing A for once and just shield it.

If I think I'm gonna lose a match I autopilot.
It's really bad and actually ensures I do lose but yeah.
If anything, I feel more comfortable playing in a 2v1 situation than a 1v1 situation 1 stock behind as well. Am I the only person that feels this?

When I'm the first one to lose my stock in a match, I find that it drastically affects my mentality. When the opponent is in kill percents, I get really antsy and impatient, and commit unnecessary risks just because I want to close out the stock as fast as possible. This leads to increasing the percentage gap between me and my opponent, against my favour.
I also tend to autopilot nowadays, but the way I mitigate it is by playing other characters occasionally, which ensures that my fundamentals do not go wayside.

It's a good punish for when I'm recovering and punishes the landing lag on Rush quite well, so I'll keep pressing A to cancel that lag and then block / jump around more tyty
I like 1v1 the most by far cos I don't get yelled at for being a bad team mate but Jezmo is pretty hype to play with

Jezmo takes doubles really seriously.

Probably not, considering I spent most of doubles GF's tauntings
As for mentality in Smash, it's something I've thought about a lot over the past year. I do believe that it has allowed me to significantly improve as a player, though.
The most important thing for me is to never autopilot. The moment you start autopiloting, your chance of winning against a good player just evaporates, if they're playing intelligently.
It's really important to actively learn during a set. To actively realize what your opponent is hitting you with, when they're rolling, what their ledge options are and so on. It's requires a lot more concentration, and I lose that concentration a fair bit. I still recognize its importance though.
Stopping yourself from tilting is crucial. Something I don't have down yet. I was tilting heaps after losing a recent set to Kaion.

Mentality is probably the weakest area of my game by far. There are certain MUs I will write off as losses without ever having played against that particular player. If I SD, then my mind gets so clogged up in the what ifs and I lose all momentum. I get salty about silly things rather than focusing on the game at hand.
It's something I struggle with IRL too so hopefully if I can solve one of these areas then I can learn to deal with how to solve the problems in the other.

I think for a lot of players new and veteran this is an issue if you can't overcome it, getting your mind down and in the dumps over a weird stock loss can always get me too.
On that note does anyone else notice that if you are having a terrible week or day or are stressed or due to unrelated issues that it can effect your game performance?
03/19/2015 07:23:22
I always have trouble killing people off. I play with a really set formula that I know works, but when it comes to killing I always feel like I have to get the gimp, read or am just pure lucky. It's so difficult for me, and I use a character with a lot of killing potential.

Would you be able to expand on that Jezmo? I'm just interested in what you mean.
Did you mean that all players should stop themselves from tilting as a reaction, or it's not the best response if playing as Diddy Kong?
In the past I've found tilts to be a viable punish option if a smash attack is too slow, or running in for a grab is too predictable.

The term itself is misleading when it comes to smash terminology.
