how come sometimes when i jump above a player, i'll do this huuuge jump but not actually foot stool them?
Also what does "cannot rebound" mean?

1) It's still a footstool, it's just the person being footstooled is doing another action, such as shielding or attacking, and as such cannot be put into the footstool state.
2) You know when two attacks clank and both characters enter a "rebound" animation? Well "Cannot rebound" means it clanks but the animation continues. Examples of these moves are Mac Ftilt, Villager Ftilt and Jiggs Dash attack.
3) When you space it right. The hand has a meteor hitbox when swinging downwards.
4) Idk either. I'm from Perth and am therefore automatically a scrub. Maybe ask one of the many good players in QLD.

The ultimate counter to Zero Suit is the legendary "roll towards her" strategy.
Your matchup with Zero Suit is literally entirely dependent on if your roll and jump are good enough to avoid dash grab.
She's still solid as a character though, I'd put her top 7-8 personally.

I would say 'hold shield' and 'space better'.
No competent ZSS player should be letting you get that close without having some sort of pressure applied. Her fundamental issue is that shield beats everything she can do, because her grab is godawful.
It's purely a measure of whether your opponent is a) poorly positioned b) not ready for the possibility for a grab c) doing stupid rolls.
Dash grabbing landings is truly OP though.
