Anyway I actually think set-up speculation on day 1 is rubbish and not helpful and I'm already guilty of contributing to it too much so should probably leave it there; we're nearly three days and several dozen posts into the game so there should be something else to chat about.

Bit suss of JonChee and Jeans is probably the best option (alternatively perhaps blaze if he continues to not contribute), although I can get behind Aero's bijou vote too ;)

For now I'm going to Vote: JEANS, I'd like to see a good response to bijou's post but so far the obsession with killing asa is a bit whack and can't say he's coming off too pro town. No one else has gotten my attention too much with anti town behaviour so far

People were discussing the number of players and I thought 4-4-8 was a mathematical possibility given the two factions so I mentioned it to create discussion and suggest caution to making assumptions when we don't know the setup.

As a super low key play too if I'm actually right about the setup then the only people that know for sure how many mafia there are (ie. the anti town players) would believe I'm on the other mafia faction and start voting for me or calling me out.

To be honest the main reason for discussing game set up at all is to get the mafia players who know some of the setup (ie. the number of anti town) to slip up and reveal information they shouldn't know. So it's not a waste of time to talk about it. What other discussion is there to go over right now? We need to start somewhere.

I don't care if this is considered scummy. Aero is the only one we let get away with just throwing votes on people with no explaination. Everyone else who does this gets called out for being anti town.

The only reason no one cares about it is because Aero does this every game regardless of his alliance. But I don't appreciate being voted for no reason so I'm going to revenge vote literally anyone that does this to me.

I'm down for a JEANS lynch tho. My gut feeling says he's maf (although that's what i said about Blaze in the last game and he ended up town lol). I usually have pretty good reads on JEANS tho but something feels especially off. Oi oi, that's not particularly fair. I'm super pro town in every game. I luv bandwagons

Talking about the set up seems to be at a dead end at this point but as long as we have a general idea of how many mafia to expect we should be fine. I think the smartest play is to get some information out of JEANS at the moment.

The thing I'm most curious about Jeans responding to is the "wtf is dharkon" post considering that he called someone out on this type of behaviour in another game (and was 100% correct).

It's probably nitpicking but historically these kind of posts are made by anti town players trying to disassociate themselves with something they really know about.

pretending to not know a role/potential mafia teammate is different from not knowing lore that im pretty sure invisi already said is just for flavour anyway and doesnt even mean anything.

also again id gain nothing or very little from pretending to not know that anyway, atyeo had a lot to gain from pretending to not know certain things. And if I called out him wouldnt that make me um aware of that play then and i wouldnt make that mistake or be so obvious making it like the only thing i posted (atyeo added some fluff about people needing to be active, I thought it was sus cause it was the same play he did with me and he was seemingly trying to be town but adding nothing)
also yea i have a HATEBONER for asa cause
1 in the dms he was very passive agressive
2 he called me bad only because i posted like once every 2 and a half days despite my posst being very long and

You're right that my post on game setup probably wasn't "needed" but activity is hardly a bad thing imo. And you now voting for someone for keeping up with discussion doesn't make sense to me. I just don't see bijou's posts as scummy whereas you and aero were coming across that way.

"Aero acts scummy every game" is true but that doesn't mean he's helping town by doing so. I'm not sure why people would defend him for this.

Also, the "Modkill this guy" into "Actually I was just kidding" option select if they don't get modkilled isn't really a compelling defense to me.

my current thoughts on people:

Aerodome: typical aero plays, making "random" votes with no explanation. its his schtick and it seems to work for him a lot but it always makes me think he's scum. then again, last game and i think in vanilla mafia he was town so its always hard to read him. also seemed pretty adamant on 2 mafia per faction, dunno what to take from this.

asa: really unsure if hes a big meme or what, the feud between him and jeans could prove interesting. prooobably town but i wouldnt put it past him to be scum either.

jeans: wasnt super impressed with his current defense, and his reasoning for attacking ghost is odd, and i especially dont like his 2nd point about aero's voting habits. i think he's scum but he could also be dumb.


bijou: active as ever in all the games i've played so far. one was scum one was town so i'm unsure. would keep my eye on him as he's one of the stronger players, also most active for the most part.

dean: only played one game with him so far and the read i made on him that game was very wrong. i feel like he's town again this game but he might be a trickster!!

laggy, boozer, extra, battledolphin: either lurking or havent said much for the discussion yet?

everyone else: no opinion so far.

As for the JEANS stuff, his posts always seem scummy, but I know Aero's posts do too so it's not always a great indicator. If I had to give a call on it, I'd say it seems more likely that JEANS is mafia than not but who knows. We'll see what happens when he responds to the pressure being put on him.

Personally I don't blame Jeans for having a "hate boner" for Asa, so I can understand him wanting Asa to be mod killed lol.

I don't really like that he's deflecting onto Ghost though, I think Ghost has come across very town so far. Ignoring the let me google that link (which I thought was funny) the other two main points were a) He's suss of Aero and 2) he was discussing the town / anti town setup.

You can't really fault him for being suss of Aero, I'm always suss of him until he can actually find a way to confirm himself as town (which he manages to do pretty often). And his post about the game setup was probably the best of what everyone had to say so far.

I still feel it's really really nitpicking but I feel like your "wtf is a dharkon" post is an indicator that you (or someone on your team) might be that character. You didn't mention anything about galeem.

Regarding what you had to gain from posting it I'd say not a whole lot. I get that it was like a "woah hey spoilers what's a dharkon" kinda deal as a joke but at the same I feel it's easy to subconsciously pick out specific pieces of information when you know something about them. If you didn't know anything at all you'd be like "hey who are these characters you're naming wtf spoilers" as opposed to naming the specific character ask asking wtf it was.

Like I said, it feels really petty to call it out and if I'm wrong about it I apologise for reading into something that isn't actually there (hate it when players do that).

I'd really like to help you not get lynched if you're town Jeans because I actually feel bad for how certain players have been pretty rude to you in / outside of the mafia games. But you're not getting me across the line to believe you yet, sorry : (
