Okay look, I'm trying to trust my instincts and reads a bit more. Last game my read was JEANS = mafia, but I didn't trust it enough to actively defend Windkeeper on the day he was lynched. I admit though, it does look pretty sketchy that I'm trusting him more in this game. I don't really know how to defend myself from this any further so yeah, guess that's it.

asa kind of blueballed us with 'part 2 tbd', i'm definitely more sus of him but want to reserve judgment until it's out.

dean's pressure on maribro is pretty interesting. personally speaking, windkeeper does my head in (even when i was masons with the guy i couldn't get much out of him LOL) so for someone to have a 'town lean' on him so early does strike me as a bit off. having said that, i couldn't see anything really wrong with what wind has said so far after going back and examining his post history.

seeing as how boozer just uhhh didnt post...

I was considering changing my vote but after JonCheee's meme I don't feel like I can LOL. Tbh MrL's contribution to this game so far is pretty… underwhelming. If we get to a point where we need a policy lynch (hopefully it doesn't get to that) honestly, MrL is probably the prime candidate. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE MORE. Ben, I know you can do it, you've done some decent things in the past and you can make good posts. Just try!

I realise I threw some shade at Windkeeper in an earlier post without really explaining why which was rude of me but from my perspective:
1. He's extremely fixated on JEANS - legit EVERY single one of his posts has brought him up. It's not as if we haven't had other things to talk about.
2. I kind of felt that his reasoning for jumping on the wagon was weak and felt opportunistic.

Exactly what kind of information did you hope to get out of JEANS at this point of time, considering that in your previous post you acknowledged that it was:

It just kind of felt at the time like opportunistic mafia looking for a cheap kill to me.

I don't know I'm probably nitpicking but Windkeeper isn't exactly the kind of player that's going to make a "hey guys I'm obviously mafia" kind of post without some prodding.

We're a week into this game and activity's taken a sharp nosedive (is everyone waiting for asa part II? why do Boozer and Laggy see it suitable to disappear for four days?) so I guess it's time to start consolidating towards a lynch.
At the end of all this I still think Maribro's been acting the strangest.

Personally I was waiting for Asa part 2 but it looks like we've moved on from there for the moment.

I'm actually reading Maribro as town at the moment. The games where Maribro plays the most confident are the ones where he is mafia because he has game information to work with and as a result he is more sure of his posting.

This game so far he actually seems to be doubting himself quite heavily for some reason. This suggests to me he doesn't have much info to work with and therefore is more likely to be town.

Can you give an example of him showing this behaviour? The only statement I can find that would reflect this is "I’m still very much learning my way around this game and using things others have said about previous games is helping me navigate this one.", but he's also stated "I'm trying to trust my instincts and reads a bit more." which implies the opposite.

NGL its been a pretty similar last 4 days.
My thoughts:
ASA has been sucking aero's dick a bit, agreeing with him (Who the fuck agrees with day 1 aero what). This well as the strange "play" from the start keeps my suspicions on him (and in that line aero too).

The Almost JEANS lynch

JEANS got to about 6 votes (iirc) Although i am still suspicuous of him it still brought up something interesting. Mafia can really easily start bandwagons against other townies. Mafia could start a lynch with all 3 members, other mafia could also try to swoop in for the free lynch as well. Thats 6 votes out of the 9. Mafia doesnt need to convince town too hard to get other townies lynched. This is all assuming its 3v3vTown. If it was 4 each then that would be 8 votes and 1 town to convince on first night which is not balanced.

So now I'm really interested in those that have been starting bandwagons and the people who support them quickly.

I know that bandwagons are what happens on day 1 but the bandwagons as of now could help us point out who the mafia are as its such a high mafia game.

Ghost voted prodding Jeans which was a fair call imo. trying to get someone modkilled and trying to start bandwagons. ASA voted probably out of spite for jeans trying to get him modkilled. In the span of a few hours Mr. L, Aero, Wind, and I voted JEANS, me then quickly recinding my post when i posted the exact same time as Wind. You could probably say "Lt but you joined the bandwagon you must be maf by this logic". Believe what you want but I probably wouldn't be point this out if I was maf. Either way those are a few that I have suspicions on now. Wind also recinded his vote a bit after. Aero is continuing to start.

Currently a Mr. L bandwagon has slightly started as well although this was a small build up over time mostly trying to pressure him into be more active.

It looks like Extra is just trying to start random votes to prod but no one is joining or ganging up with him which makes me lean towards town for him.

Maribro is just playing without trying to force votes just analysing everything which I think is fine.

Also pointing out Aero has not voted for Mr. L on day 1, this is not Aero behaviour.
Although I'm probably readying between the lines a bit much on that one.


Those are my current thoughts. Bandwagons at this stage and agressiveness could end up being quite telling for the rest of the game.
I do wanna see more activity out of Ben and possibly BD as well.

This is all rather self-doubting language honestly. Maribro has been a good player for a long while at least in my opinion, so the fact he's saying things like 'asa is inspiring me to think harder' or 'I'm still learning'... like what?

Still learning? Maribro is already a good player, I find these sorts of posts are implying he's gone back into his shell a bit and isn't sure of what he is doing. When I played with him in his mafia team he wasn't like this at all, all his posts were confident and didn't use uncertain language like this. Or didn't imply that he's trying to improve himself etc, he never did anything like that when I played in his mafia team.

"i've been lurking but dont want to contribute" reads to me (especially since there was clearly a lot that happened between your last post and your activity post, notably substantial posts from asa, bijou, dean, jeans and maribro) that you'd rather not give things away unprompted which i consider to be pretty anti-town.

dean, I think you're simply trying to metagame me too hard. I'm coming into this game with a different mindset to previous games, which I've openly announced several times. Yes, I will admit I am playing differently but it's with good intentions. Sorry I’m not seeing this much vaunted “confidence”; the language used in Fire Emblem post 5 isn’t very strong at all.

If I want to play this game I’d say his sucking up to Windkeeper (and at a stretch, maybe asa) is much more reminiscent of his behavior in Sun and Moon mafia (check out post 2 in particular).

This also isn’t a great game for scum to be “confident” because they only know half the anti-town players...

If you think Maribro isn’t mafia that’s cool I’m not trying to control the way people think but if you’re going to shift suspicion away from him I’d want way stronger reasons than this.
